The Les Gavarres massif rises right behind Girona — a wild, forested plateau crisscrossed by hundreds of kilometers of gravel tracks. No cars, no noise, just the crunch of tires on dirt and the smell of cork oak and pine.

Our gravel adventure strings together the smoothest farm tracks, flowy forest descents and a few spicy climbs, with a stop at a rural masia for local cheese, bread and tomato — Catalan pa amb tomàquet at its source.
