The honest answer: there is no bad month to ride in Girona. But every season has its own character — here’s how to choose yours.

Spring (March–May) ★ Best overall

The classic choice. 15–22°C, green hillsides, wildflowers on every climb and the pro peloton in town preparing for the Grand Tours. Book early — this is peak season for cyclists.

Summer (June–August)

Hot at midday (30°C+) but very rideable if you follow the local rhythm: roll out at 7:00, finish by 13:00, swim, siesta, vermouth. The Costa Brava ride is at its absolute best.

Autumn (September–November) ★ The insider’s pick

Warm seas, golden light, harvest season in the Empordà vineyards and empty roads once September ends. Many of our regulars call October the perfect month.

Winter (December–February)

This is when the pros arrive — which tells you everything. Expect 8–15°C, mostly sunny, occasional sharp mornings. Bring layers for descents and you’ll have the climbs to yourself.
